Summary: In 2013, a photo collection of women’s unconventional sexuality declaration caused a stir on Chinese internet. This was resulted from Beijing Foreign Studies University’s (BFSU) attempt to localize Eve Ensler's play, Vagina Monologue, which was performed in over 150 countries worldwide in some 50 different languages. However, The disconnect between the elite, educated women at BFSU who take a feminist view of their sexuality and the Chinese public that insists on objectifying it is alarming. Six years later, a revisit to the BFSU campus shows that only a handful of people remember what happened. For the majority of students the once sensational news has long been forgotten amid the flood of information and the tightening government control on media.
